Flight instructor course

The course consists of hours of flight instruction with an approved FIC instructor and hours of groundschool for a stand alone course – this is reduced to hours of flight instruction and hours of ground instruction for the holder of a FI(A). Upon course completion, a test must be passed with an approved Flight Instructor Examiner, usually at our Midlands base airfield. Our Flight Instructor (FI) course typically takes between five to six weeks (full-time).


FI course training can take place at any of our Aeros bases, either full-time or part-time, and typically with a maximum of two students per FI Instructor. Tayside Aviation has delivered Flight Instructor training for over years.

Following a pre-entry flight test, the training normally takes six weeks with favourable weather, and not more that two candidates per instructor can be on the same course. The minimum requirement for the course is hours of flying, but up to five hours can be flown as mutual sorties with another candidate. What is the flight instructor? How long is flight instructor training? The duration of the course will normally be 5-weeks.


On completion of the course a ground and flight test will be carried out by a Flight Instructor Examiner. We also offer the addition of night privileges to the FI Certificate and the Instrument Rating Instructor.

A deposit of is required in advance to book the aircraft and FIC instructor. On satisfactory completion of the course , the applicant must pass an Instructor Skill Test with a Flight Instructor Examiner which will be arranged by the Club. Flight Instructor Rating The holder of an FI(R) Rating may give flight instruction to students training for a PPL, although there are certain restrictions regarding the authorisation of solo flight and cross country flying.


These restrictions are removed when the full Flight Instructor ’s rating is gained. Flight instruction comprises of hours of flight training of which hours will be dual instruction and hours will be mutual flying with another student instructor or qualified FI to practise flight demonstrations. Course Aim The FI (R) course is designed to. How can I get my Flight Instructor – FI(A) rating? Step 1: Complete the theoretical training.


The theoretical training is an integral part of FI(A) rating course. It can be done concurrently with the flight training or used as a separate ground training course. Flight instructor courses offer step-by-step, comprehensive instruction in manning different types of aircraft, most notably single-engine planes. Typical courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on flying time. Minimum requirements for flying times vary by country and institution.


Flying Instructor Course. The EASA Flight Instructor Certificate (FI) allows the holder to teach students towards a PPL or LAPL for remuneration. The certificate can be added to a PPL or higher level of licence.

A PPL FI holder can teach the LAPL syllabus, and if they have passed the CPL Theoretical Knowledge exams they can also teach the PPL. The courses are composed of different modules allowing qualification as a simulator instructor (Synthetic Flight Instructor - SFI or restricted TRI) to in- flight aircraft training (full Type-Rating Instructor - TRI). Flight Instructor Upgrade Courses : Night – to instruct at night. Courses are on a 1-to-or 1-to-basis and last 4-weeks. Enhancing the wide range of aircraft for instructor training is a state of the art DAFNPTII flight simulator with full 1degree graphics.


Our Complete Accelerated (CFI) Certified Flight Instructor course is an upscale program designed to immerse the Commercial Pilot into a dedicated day CFI flight instructor test prep training program. Our training focuses on teaching skills, presentation and scenario based training. Train the way you Fly - Fly the way you train. Flight Instructor Refresher Seminars, such as those run by AOPA, play a central part. During the dual instruction, student instructor will learn how to demonstrate all of the PPL exercises, evaluate a student’s performance and correct student errors. AOPA held one of its Flight Instructor Refresher Seminars at its headquarters at 50a Cambridge Street in London.


The seminar attracted instructors from all over the UK and included several nationalities. The success of the two-day seminar, which was audited.
